The wise man we all know of named Aristotle once said a smart thing – well, a couple of smart things. He mentioned that human beings are what they repeatedly do. He deduced then that excellence is merely a set of habits, rather than an act. Taking Aristotle’s words to their meaning tells us that absolutely any person can exhibit excellence. All that one has to do is to develop and master the right habits. Here are six life-changing habits that you can take up to become an achiever!

Single Tasking

Yes, this is the opposite of multi-tasking. This is when you commit your efforts and attention to one single task without allowing several other ‘urgent’ tasks to come in the way or anything else distract you from what you are doing. It is a powerful habit because what you will find when you enforce this well is that you will become much more productive and less stressed.

Quit the Blame Game

Start paying attention to every time that you catch yourself, pointing the finger at others. Try to catch the moment you blame eternal factors for your own choices. Put a stop to these habits. Begin to know and understand that you are responsible for every choice or decision you have made and will make. No matter the circumstances or the influences, ultimately, all is in your hands. Own it!

Practice Listening

The key to relationships, be them personal or professional, is good communication. There can be no good communication without good listening. Listening is about changing your attitude towards what others have to say. Instead of being preoccupied with preparing your response, you should develop the habit of listening to others. You will have your chance to speak. However, it is important to listen, and listening is no more than a skill you need to learn and a habit you have to form.

Be Curious

Among the many skills a person can build, curiosity happens to be one of the best. Being curious about people, things, or places is a wonderful trait. Curiosity is what enriches business networking, knowledge, and worldly experience. Interaction with others can improve phenomenally merely by having a curious mind. It will surprise you to know about the amazing things you can learn by asking many questions and gaining a reputation for it!

An Attitude of Gratitude

Having an attitude of gratitude is all about appreciation. Knowing what you have and being so thankful for the fact that you have it. This doesn’t apply only to material things but to everything in life – people, things, qualities, and experiences. Everyone in this world has several things to be grateful for, and yes, some have a lot more to be grateful for than others! However, without gratitude, you will never achieve a sense of fulfillment.

Give

Giving is very much a habit. If you have the habit of giving, you stop being envious. You stop coveting, you stop being greedy, and you stop hogging things! Be giving with your time, with your money, with your things, and with your heart. Giving brings more oy to the giver than to the receiver, so do not hold back when you become a giving person – let toe habit infiltrate your life! Being helpful is another way to give, and there are so many people in the world who need help. A habit of giving can change your life because it helps you remain grounded. It enables you to remember that there is so much more to life than the mundane everyday things that preoccupy us all sometimes.

Start easy. You should pick one or two habits from this list that you would like to adopt and work on those first. You don’t have to burden yourself with numerous new habits. As a result, it will probably just be you throwing up your hands in defeat and simply ditching the entire improvement idea. Try a 30-day challenge focussing on only one habit at a time. Within a year, you will have 12 new and life-changing habits!
