One of the most prestigious awards giving bodies in Hollywood is the Grammys. This is where the finest and the best musicians gather to be awarded for their amazing music. And on the 12th of February 2017, a lot of people tuned into CBS to watch this year’s Grammy’s hosted by British actor-host, James Corden. But of course it is not just about the winners and performers, it is also about who are the best and worst dressed on the red carpet. Keep reading to find out who needs to be on the Fashion Police.
ADELE
“And the Grammy best of everything goes to”… Yes, Adele is a total big winner in the 2017 Grammy’s because she won this year’s Best Pop Vocal Album, Sound of the Year, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Solo Pop Performance. She even made an emotional speech regarding her winning the Album of the Year and kept on saying that it was supposed to be Beyonce’s Lemonade which obviously made Beyonce’s heart warm and she even broke her trophy in two, probably to share it with her.
Aside from winning and taking home multiple Grammy trophies, she is also considered as one of the best-dressed stars that night with her elegant olive green Givenchy dress that hugged her figure so beautifully and of course, the 28-year-old singer carried it with grace and confidence. Her long sleeved dress has a very detailed design as well, including the checkered bodice which made it even more sophisticated looking.
BEYONCÉ
Queen Bey may not have walked the red carpet at this year’s Grammy’s but she still managed to steal the spotlight when she performed one of her songs on a Grammy stage after she surprised everyone when she announced she’s pregnant with twin a couple of days before the awards night and she totally nailed her god-like performance. After her amazing performance, she joined her husband, Jay-Z, and daughter, Blue Ivy, in the audience wearing a sparkling long-sleeved dress by Peter Dundas. However, she lost against Adele in the most prestigious categories which are the Album of the Year and Record of the Year. But she managed to bring home the Best Music Video and the Best Urban Contemporary Album.
JENNIFER LOPEZ
Next up is the 47-year-old singer JLo, who totally rocked her Ralph Russo dress in the 2017 Grammy’s red carpet. She looked incredibly flawless in the halter-neck high slit dress with the plunging neckline. She didn’t even need to do something with her hair so she just wore it straight and she partnered her look with the old school diamond encrusted clutch and heels, which totally matched her dress.
KATY PERRY
“Totally head-scratching.” This is what people are saying after they saw what Katy Perry wore on the 49th Grammy’s red carpet. She wore a Tom Ford metallic top which is a long-sleeved turtle-neck that is completely covered by sequins and unfortunately, the bottom didn’t seem to match the top because it looks like another dress since it is completely covered with feathers. This made her look like she mismatched a top and a skirt. But despite all that, she graced us with a messy platinum blonde bob which totally saved her look since she definitely rocked her new hairstyle.
She performed her latest single entitled “Chained to the Rhythm” which she releases on Friday before the Grammy’s. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, she said something about her new album.
RIHANNA
And last but not the least is the nine-time Grammy nominated R&B singer, Rihanna, who wore a beautiful Armani Prive orange crop top with a black ball gown with a skirt on the red carpet and is considered to be one of the best-dressed stars of that night. She was nominated for Best Recording Package, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Pop-Duo Performance, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song. However, she, unfortunately, didn’t win in any of these categories.
And there you have it, this year’s Grammy’s red carpet fashion looks. Who do you think will make into the list next year? And stay tune because the Oscars are just a few weeks away.
