The Big Bang Theory surely made a big first impression when it first aired in 2007. Both the geeky cast and the hilarious story lines are just hard not to love, even though, unless we just applied for a college grant for physics, we have no idea what most of them are saying! The show is well into its 10th season and all of the show’s fans are just savoring every line and episode left until we say goodbye to Leonard, Sheldon, Penny and the rest of the cast (sob!).
To help make the time seem longer, why don’t we talk more about the show and the cast? And, speaking of, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco and Jim Parsons are definitely swimming in cash now thanks to the show! You can say that they’re enjoying about $1 million each per episode, almost as much as what each of the cast members of Friends were making toward the end of their series. There’s a lot more that you may not probably know about The Big Bang Theory and its cast. Check out 43 awesome facts below!
Jim Parsons has never actually seen Star Trek.
Like his friends, Sheldon is super obsessed with Star Trek and even takes Wil Wheaton’s character all too personally, to the point that he’s considered him his biggest arch enemy in real life. But the truth is, the actor who plays Sheldon (Jim Parsons) has never actually watched Star Trek — possibly not even a single episode! Well, at least he got to learn a lot about the show in his script.
Kaley and Johnny dated!

Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki played a Cheesecake Factory employee and aspiring actress named Penny and an experimental physicist named Leonard, who soon fell in love with each other after a couple of episodes. Turns out, Cuoco and Galecki were also dating in real life, and their co-stars and staff had no idea about it! They dated for two years and split up in 2009, but remained good friends and co-workers. “It was a wonderful relationship but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together. We were so protective of ourselves and the show and didn’t want anything to ruin that. But that also made it sad, too,” Cuoco admitted to CBS.
Chuck Lorre created other great shows.

You may not realize it at first, but you’ve definitely seen The Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre’s name in other TV shows. In case you need a little reminding, he’s also the creator of other comedies like Two and a Half Men and Dharma & Greg. He’s also one of the writers for Mike & Molly. Don’t be surprised if you see any similar story lines or scenes in these shows!
‘Bazinga’ originated from a grapefruit joke.

The term “Bazinga,” which means “I got you” on the show, actually originated from writer Stephen Engel, who used the term whenever he played practical jokes on other people. His favorite practical joke involved taping up a grapefruit in their office. Of course, if you always see it while brainstorming and writing, it’s bound to end up in the script somewhere! That’s what you call creativity and innovation, people!
Mayim Bialik, who plays Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, is actually a neuroscientist.

The cast has admitted to having a little trouble memorizing their lines and pretending that they actually know what they were talking about, especially when they have to say physics terms and other brainy words. But not Mayim Bialik! The actress, who plays Sheldon’s love interest Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on the show, is actually a neuroscientist and is the only cast member with a PhD! Bialik once admitted to correcting her script based on her own knowledge. Cool!
